B2B vs B2C

If your ecommerce store is used to provide online shopping for both B2C (business-to-consumer) and B2B (business-to-business) customers, you'll want to read on.

We'll provide clarity on how to position topi for your B2B customers.

topi is for B2B customers

First things first: topi is only accepting orders from business customers (i.e. you must be using topi for B2B sales, not B2C).

topi provides widgets that you can use on your ecommerce store to show whether a product can be rented via topi, to render a checkout button, and so on.

The ideal experience is for your ecommerce store to be able to recognize whether the current customer on the site is a B2B or B2C customer. This will allow you to conditionally render topi’s widgets. If this is not possible, we will work with you to determine how to best place topi’s widgets.

topi reviews every customer

Following a customer's checkout, topi initiates a risk review. Our risk engine looks at whether the transaction is a business transaction by verifying the registration status of the company behind the checkout.

This review is extended to sole traders or freelancers, who typically possess a legal entity linked to their name. This step ensures that non-business customers will not be able to place an order via topi.

We will cover the topi Risk Review later in the integration guide.
