B2B vs B2C
If your ecommerce store is used to provide online shopping for both B2C (business-to-consumer) and B2B (business-to-business) customers, you'll want to read on.
We'll provide clarity on how to position topi for your B2B customers.
topi is for B2B customers
topi only accepts orders from business customers. Use topi for B2B sales, not B2C.
topi provides widgets you can place on your ecommerce store to show whether a product can be rented via topi, to render a checkout button, and so on.
Ideally, your ecommerce store recognizes whether the current customer is a B2B or B2C customer, so you can conditionally render topi's widgets. If that is not possible, topi will work with you to determine where to place the widgets.
topi reviews every customer
After a customer checks out, topi runs a risk review. The risk engine verifies that the transaction is a business transaction by checking the registration status of the company behind the checkout.
This review also covers sole traders and freelancers, who typically have a legal entity linked to their name. Non-business customers cannot place an order via topi.
The topi Risk Review is covered later in the integration guide.
